Supporting Queen of Greens

The team and I thought long and hard about how we can support local CIC and social enterprise ‘Queen of Greens’ and decided to ask our wonderful customers for a £1 donation on every bill. We are also planning a series of events with guest chef dinners to raise much needed funds. - Thank you

This £1 donation per bill is totally discretionary, and we understand many people might not want to support. Simply ask us to remove it.

Why Support?

Chef and Owner Paul grew up in Anfield and is raising his family there now, Queen of Greens is a service that helps this community with access to fresh food. In a time when costs in supermarkets are sky rocketing, public transport is under serviced in the area and the elderly and young families in the area rely on the service provided and the amazing work of this Social Enterprise. Access to fresh fruit and vegetables, growing spaces and cooking knowledge is fundamental to the development and continuation of not just healthy people, but a sustainable and vibrant food culture in Liverpool.

What is Queen of Greens?

The Queen of Greens is a social-enterprise mobile greengrocer service run in collaboration by the charity Feedback’s Alchemic Kitchen project and The City of Liverpool’s food alliance, Feeding Liverpool. The service launched in November 2022, with the aim of improving access to fruit and vegetables for residents across the Liverpool City Region by bringing fresh, affordable produce to areas identified as food deserts and communities affected by food insecurity.  The Queen of Greens serves as an innovative intervention, ensuring that residents in these underserved areas can access fresh produce regardless of their income or location. By selling affordable produce in loose quantities, the service minimises unnecessary costs for customers and reduces food waste. The mobile service also provides recipe cards for budget-friendly, healthy meals and prioritises stocking local and seasonal produce, emphasising quality and variety. The payment options include cash, cards, Healthy Start, and Rose vouchers, promoting accessibility for low-income households. “ Click the Icon on the right for more information.
